Indeed, in the current times of climate change, pollution, environmental degradation, and resource depletion, governments and businesses need to jump in, to ensure that they are not only profitable, but also meaningful and tangible to its stakeholders, including the environment. It is an issue that affects the whole of humanity and every living being on this Earth.” ~ Dalai Lama The above quote captures the deep and far-reaching impact of climate change. The Earth saw its warmest decade between 2010 and 2019, with 2019 as the second warmest year ever recorded. With the exponential increase in Greenhouse gases, Earth’s temperature has risen by 1.15 °C as per the UN. The rising temperatures pose a direct threat to human survival in the form of extreme weather conditions that jeopardize the ecological balance, resulting in unforeseen and massive natural disasters in the form of wildfires, hurricanes, drought, floods, etc. [1][2] The Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 was adopted by the UN in 2015 as a response to the extreme changes in climate.
