In this blog, we discuss SDG-17: “Partnership for Goals,” which explicitly highlights that sustainable goals can only be achieved by forming meaningful relationships at a local, regional, national, and global level.[1] In a nutshell, the objective of this goal states that developed, developing, and underdeveloped countries and all the stakeholders in these economies must capitalize on the benefits of inclusive partnerships to mitigate the short-term and long-term issues. Group8_A | SDG 7 : Affordable and Clean Energy

In the last three decades global population has increased by 2.7 billion [1] . Consequently, the demand for food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and other necessities for human survival in today’s era has increased exponentially. Like, the number of people with access to electricity has gone up by 1.7 billion across the world during this time-period. This is one of numerous examples that bolsters the fact that the demand for cheap energy has risen significantly. The problem is not with the risen demand but with the ways we are catering to it. Currently, we are meeting a major portion of this demand through non-renewable conventional modes of energy like fossil fuels. Such resources of energy emit pollutants like SO x , NO x , greenhouse gases, and suspensions. This creates problems for the entire ecosystem and has a visible impact on pretty much everything. Not only this, but the extraction and consumption of such energy resources has contributed the most towards the climate cha...

The broad objective of SDG – 4 is to ensure inclusive and equitable, quality education and to promote avenues of lifelong learning opportunities . One in five children in the entire world has no access to schools. [1] Yet, we have seen a record number of children being enrolled in educational institutes across the world, at all levels: primary & secondary. This schooling has, however, not resulted in the learning outcomes that were expected. UNICEF reported in 2019 that about 617 million out of 1 billion school goi...

But cities have become overcrowded due to increasing population and migration, leading to a population boom in urban cities.   The global population is expected to rise to 9.7 billion by 2050. [1] More land is required to accommodate the growing population. Cities are being expanded beyond their administrative boundaries in a scattered manner to provide space for humans, which is unsustainable. Humans have been exploiting the limited resources that cities have to offer, which is causing floods and other natural disasters. It also contributes to economic dis...
